HR Specialist

For over 30 years, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services has been providing compassionate and dependable medical and non-medical home health care services throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Through our quality care, we help our clients with the medical, physical, and emotional strain that comes when home health care is needed the most. 

Preferred is hiring an HR specialist for our Mount Laurel, NJ office. In addition to recruiting field staff, including nurses and home health aides, this individual will be responsible for maintaining compliance of employee records with all federal and state regulations and Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) standards. 

Duties of Position 

Responsible for supporting the human resources department to ensure all external staff compliance and hiring processes are completed with the highest level of efficiency, accuracy, and customer service. 

Responsibilities of Position 

  1. Play a key role in managing the high-volume administrative processes surrounding external employee hiring and retention 
  2. Manage required onboarding documentation for candidates and newly hired employees 
  3. Maintain organized tracking spreadsheets 
  4. Make and receive calls to candidates and employees to follow-up on outstanding documentation and next steps in the hiring process 
  5. Maintain personnel files, including copies of current credentials, and upload/scan all documents into system 
  6. Ensure all external staff continue to meet the appropriate license, certification, and in-service requirements 
  7. Ensure that all employees meet their required mandatory training and keep records of in-services 
  8. Ensure supervisory visits, competency assessments, and 90-day and annual reviews are conducted in a timely manner 
  9. Track necessary COVID-19-related documentation and ensure personnel files comply with local and federal guidelines 
  10. Coordinate all appropriate re-certifications and necessary ongoing requirements 
  11. Obtain appropriate credentials, as well as updated copies, prior to the expiration date of any license, certification, or other required documentation 
  12. Maintain strict professional ethics, confidentiality, and privacy 
  13. Perform other duties as assigned in a professional matter

  1. Must have a college degree 
  2. A minimum of two years of human resources or equivalent experience is preferred 
  3. Experience in health care preferred 
  4. Customer service-oriented 
  5. Ambition to grow and advance beyond current position 
  6. Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, manage multiple priorities, and pay meticulous attention to detail 
  7. A demonstrated record of strong interpersonal skills and goal achievement
